1. I act like it's OK to hurt people repeatedly.
2. My behavior is shabby.
3. My emotions are too changeable.
4. My actions are malicious.
5. I am broken and enjoy fucking people over.

I don't agree with any of these things. It's sad that you can't unhear/see things. Some bridges get burnt.

and even though i'm alone
the smell of you hangs in the air
clings to my sheets
brushes my skin

a cloud of smoke
around my bed

last night you
took a pinch of your tobacco
     smelling of crushed wild cherries
your nimble fingers pinched the paper
rolled it
presented it to me

so without you here
i can conjure you
with an inhalation

and even though i'm alone
the smell of you hangs in the air

1. Most mornings can be made better by listening to the Dirtbombs.
2. All mornings can be made better by waking up next to someone you love*.
3. Most mornings that start off with your boss telling you that you look like shit should be followed directly with going back to bed.
4. All mornings are better with coffee when it has cardamom in it.
5. This morning was the worst morning.

*Even if that someone is a cat.

1. That you will see that my perceived intelligence is posturing.
2. That you will stop thinking I'm pretty.
3. That you will get annoyed by my big mouth and unread/uninformed opinions.
4. That you/I will make me/you crazy.
5. Spiders.

fire burn hot hot hot
consume me

and i rise orange red
inflamed and desperate

willing, willing
to be consumed again

perhaps you think
directness is a flaw
but the path is made easier
when the way is clear

subtle and ashen with longing
polarized, your words trace
the rhythm of a blush

longing, longing to languish
in a cloud of your smoke
wrapping around flesh, a
damp sheet, echoes of summer,
a slack grip, a sigh

slight of hand fumbling,
navigation by temperature
this Venn has only one overlap
there can only be one result

While this journal may contain the occasional Top Five, it's another dumping ground - this time for horribly, horribly bad poetry.

Feel free to unfriend, I won't be mad!

Five chores I do regularly and enjoy:
1. Laundry
2. Ironing
3. General daily tidying-up and putting things away
4. Taking out the recycling
5. Cleaning out the freezer

Five chores I do regularly and feel neutral about:
1. Scooping the cat litter
2. Cleaning the bathroom counter
3. Dusting
4. Doing the dishes
5. Making my bed

Five chores I do with slightly less regularity and hate:
1. Changing the litter box
2. Cleaning the toilet
3. Anything to do with floor maintenance (sweeping, vacuuming, mopping)
4. Taking out the garbage
5. Cleaning out the fridge

1. Sports. (Except for baseball.)
2. Metal. (Except for the stuff Michael tells me about, that he thinks I would like.)
3. Macaroni and cheese. (Except for the homemade kind my mom made when I was a kid, and PC White Cheddar Macaroni and Cheese when it's made with pesto instead of butter which is so delicious I can't even tell you and KD does not even deserve to share a shelf with it!)
4. Ketchup. (Except for the homemade kind my Grandmere used to make that when I had some similar to it at Cafe Diana a few years ago it made me weep a little bit, and ketchup chips.)
5. Hour-long medical procedural dramas. (And I was going to say except for House but I'm kind of over House now, and by kind of I mean a lot which is really too bad because Hugh Laurie is such a gem.)

1. To cook more delicious food for myself at home.
2. To challenge myself by writing more, and making that writing something meaningful.
3. To be cuddled and nurtured and to learn to ask when I need that to happen.
4. To remember to pay all my bills on time and be a responsible adult.
5. To be less lazy! (See all of the above.)
